MONTROSE, Pa. — My name is Ava Hughes and I’m a sixth grade student a Lathrop Street in Montrose.
I suggest you try this recipe “Yogurt Key Lime Pie.” I found it in my Grandma’s recipe box and it say it’s a recipe from the 2016 Susquehanna County Dairy Princess, Brooke Marvin. I made it, it’s easy to make, contains yogurt and tastes so good.
Yogurt is a mixture of milk and cream fermented by a culture of lactic acid-producing bacteria. Yogurt is a nutritious, excellent source of vitamins and minerals. In yogurt you will find nutrients such as calcium, protein and probiotics.
When you stand at the dairy case you will see yogurt comes in many flavors. I’m sure you will find a favorite flavor or a few favorites.
Don’t forget during the Christmas season to include not only yogurt but other dairy products in your diet such as some of the many kinds of cheese with some crackers or maybe you would enjoy some hot chocolate.

Key Lime Pie – Makes 8 servings
1 (3 ounce) box lime-flavored gelatin
½ cup boiling water
2 (5.3 ounce) containers of lime flavored yogurt
1 container frozen, extra creamy, whipped topping, thawed
1 prepared 9 inch graham cracker pie crust
In a large bowl dissolve the gelatin in the boiling water stirring with a wire whisk, when dissolved stir in the yogurt. With a wooden spoon, fold in the whipped topping. Transfer the mixture into the prepared graham cracker pie crust. Refrigerate at least 2 hours. Enjoy!
